Voters favor in-person voting

Jill Schramm/MDN  Election worker Devra Smestad, right, former Ward County auditor, hands a ballot to a voter during early voting Monday in the Ward County Administration Building. The opening of the first in-person poll in the county since the coronavirus pandemic began drew long lines of people who snaked through the building lobby and into the voting area, where masked voters were kept socially distanced. Early voting will continue Tuesday through Friday and Monday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Jill Schramm/MDN Carla Wack inserts her ballot Monday into one of the new voting machines being employed for the first time in Ward County.
