Scott Lampert given suspended sentence, 3 years probation, for breaking man’s nose

Scott Francis Lampert, 60, Raub, was sentenced on Wednesday to 360 days in jail, all suspended, and three years of supervised probation for striking another man in the back of the head, then punching him in the ribs and nose and fracturing his nose on July 27, 2019, at Makoti.

According to court documents, the victim had been helping someone to carry in groceries. Lampert’s cat got in the truck and the victim picked up the cat, dropped it to the ground, and continued to get the groceries out of the truck. Lampert accused the man of being mean to his cat and assaulted him.

Lampert entered an Alford plea to the Class C felony aggravated assault charge, meaning that he maintains his innocence but recognizes that he could have been found guilty if the case went to trial.

Court records show that Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Lampert to have no contact with the victim, to pay $2,772.24 in restitution and $525 in court costs and to complete an anger management class. If Lampert successfully completes probation, the charge will be reduced to a Class A misdemeanor.
