Food drive for Domestic Violence Crisis Center food pantry

The ND Fraternal Order of Police – Souris Valley Regional Lodge No. 7 and the Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Minot are holding a regional food drive beginning next week, and continuing through the end of the year.

According to Aaron Moss, president of the lodge, the collected food will be given to the food pantry at the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. The food pantry there is experiencing extreme shortages due to increased need this year.

The Domestic Violence Crisis Center is requesting simple, easy to prepare items that are “shelf stable” such as macaroni and cheese, soup, ramen, hamburger helper, instant mashed potatoes, cereal, snacks, and taco kits.

Food donations can be dropped off at: Minot Police Department, Surrey Police Department, Velva City Hall, Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Bottineau County Sheriff’s Office, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
