RIVERDALE – UPDATE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District announced that the City of Riverdale was in process of completing repairs today, and that access will be restored tomorrow, Oct. 7, to the Government Bay Recreation Area on Lake Sakakawea.

The temporary closure of the access road and fish cleaning station at the Government Bay Recreation Area occurred due to of a water line break in Riverdale on Sept. 21.

The break impacted the structure of the roadway requiring the road closure. Facilities impacted included the Morning Star Campground and the Government Bay fish cleaning station, parking lots and boat ramp. The City of Riverdale was scheduled to finish the necessary repairs today.
