Clesston Lyle Smith, 28, New Town, is accused of possession of a stolen black 2008 C/K1500 pickup and fleeing from Minot police in the vehicle on Oct. 20 and Oct. 26.

He is charged with a Class C felony in district court in Minot.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Three Affiliated Tribes. An officer spotted it parked outside a southeast Minot residence early Thursday morning, located Smith and placed him under arrest.

Smith was also charged with a second offense of possession of methamphetamine.

He was scheduled to make an initial appearance on the charges on Thursday before Judge Todd Cresap.
