Sterling Uleberg charged as an adult with armed robbery, escape, theft
Sterling Thomas Uleberg, who turned 18 on July 29, is now charged in district court in Minot as an adult with Class B felony armed robbery, Class C felony escape by force or threat of force, Class C felony theft of property, Class B misdemeanor DUI, and two counts of Class B misdemeanor driving under suspension.
All of the offenses happened when he was still 17, in June of this year.
Court documents in the case have been sealed by a judge and no more information is available.
Uleberg had previously been charged as an adult with terrorizing a juvenile victim, a Class C felony. That offense happened March 3, when Uleberg was 17.
A judge signed an order on Thursday to transport Uleberg from the Ward County Juvenile Detention Center to the Ward County Jail.
Uleberg made an initial appearance on the new charges on Friday before Judge Richard Hagar, who set bond at $50,000 cash or corporate surety. A prosecutor said the alleged victims are terrified of Uleberg. Uleberg said he has been held in custody since January. He said he does not know who the alleged victims in this case are.
Hagar encouraged Uleberg to apply for a court-appointed attorney.
