The North Central Veterans Stand Down has been scheduled for Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Armed Forces Reserve Center at 3420 2nd St. NE, Minot.

Various agencies will be represented to provide information on veterans benefits, counseling and health care. Flu shots will be provided by the Veterans Administration. There will be a free noon meal.

Veterans should bring their DD214 or VA card as proof of veteran status, if possible.

COVID-19 precautions will be followed. Masks, gloves and hand sanitizers will be provided by NDCares.

Last year 192 veterans attended the event, said Kelli Weiand, military outreach specialist.
