ND oil production remains below million barrels a day

North Dakota’s oil production numbers continue to stay below a million barrels of oil a day, according to the newest report.

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources reported on Friday that the state produced 890,109 barrels of oil a day in June, the most recent figures available.

It was a slight increase compared to the preceding month of May when the state produced 859,362 barrels of oil a day.

The figures normally are about two months behind.

The all-time high was more than 1.5 million barrels of oil a day produced in November 2019, according to Lynn Helms, director of the Mineral Resources Department.

In June the state produced 59,198,681 MCF of natural gas. The gas capture rate was 89% (52,740,221 MCF) in June.

On Friday, the price of North Dakota Light Sweet was $33 a barrel and West Texas Intermediate was $42.24 a barrel.

Eleven rigs were actively drilling in North Dakota on Friday. The all-time high was 218 rigs on May 29, 2012.

The state had 13,167 (preliminary figure) producing wells in June. The all-time high was 16,169 in October 2019.

Fort Berthold Reservation produced 238,067 barrels of oil, according to Helms. Four drilling rigs were actively working on the reservation and 2,453 wells were active.
