Minot police: Sunday shooting occurred after confrontation beween groups attending after party

Minot police say they have identified the people who were involved in a shooting early Sunday in downtown Minot.

According to a police press release, the incident occurred as one group that was leaving the Ice Cold Ryders “Blacked Out Night” after party confronted a group that was arriving at the party. An altercation ensued and eventually erupted into an exchange of gunfire, according to police. Three men, ages 22, 42, and 26 were shot and were taken to the hospital by private parties. One of the three injured men was treated and released from the hospital and the two others were admitted to the hospital.

Police say they have referred the matter to the Ward County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. According to a press release, they will not identify any of the people involved by name.

However, one of the men involved in the shooting was identified in a police affidavit in another case as Tyquan Markeez Graham, 22, of Minot.

Graham is being held at the Ward County Jail on charges that he and an unidentified man robbed another man in the parking lot outside the Sports on Tap bar parking lot at 1:41 a.m. Sunday.

Graham has not been charged in connection with the shooting and neither has anyone else as of Friday.
