July first month in 2020 with above average moisture
The past month of July was the first month in 2020 with above average moisture, according to Austin Kraklau of the North Central Research Extension Center, south of Minot.
“The total moisture for the month was 2.84 inches which is 0.52 inches above the long-term average of 2.32 inches,” said Kraklau.
He said July had an average temperature of 69.7 degrees which was 1.2 degrees above the 113-year long-term average of 68.5 degrees.
“Our lowest temperature of the month was 52 degrees which occurred on July 14th and the high was 93 degrees which occurred on the 25th,” Kraklau said.
Most of this week through Thursday will be sunny with the exception of Tuesday night and Wednesday when there’s a chance of thunderstorms. Most days temperatures will be in the 80s.
