DVCC to sponsor fundraiser in October

The Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Minot will host Pour & Sip, a virtual event and fundraiser, on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

The event will be presented through Zoom.

Tickets are $40 for singles and $65 for couples.

All tickets include acrylic pour paint, canvas, a surface protector, one bottle of DVCC hand-crafted wine, and a link to the live pour paint tutorial. Tickets are limited to the first 180 participants.

Additionally, there will be a virtual silent auction platform to bid on items. Proceeds of the auction will benefit the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Auction participants do not need to purchase an event ticket to bid as the auction will be open to the public. Items will be available to preview starting Oct. 17. The auction will go live on Oct. 23. People can visit the Domestic Violence Crisis Center’s social pages for a link.

Domestic Violence Crisis Center has formed a partnership with Urban Winery, a local downtown business, to create handcrafted wine that will be made by Domestic Violence Crisis Center staff, board, and volunteers. Bottles are sold in the 375 ml and 750 ml size. These are priced at $40 and $65 and include a pour paint art kit for one to two people depending on the size of the bottle purchased. To create these pour paint kits, DVCC will shop for supplies at Artmain.

The Pour Paint Kits and Wine will be available to pick up the week prior to the event at a location yet to be announced. Event attendees will receive a Zoom link through their email. This link will give them special access to a live pour paint tutorial from a veteran artist where they can learn to create pour art, enjoy sips, and some eats from their favorite restaurant at home.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All proceeds will go to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Inc.’s general operating fund.

According to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, the center’s fundraising efforts have been affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the number of requests for services have increased over the last three years. Fundraising is more important than ever.

VIP tickets to DVCC’s exclusive wine making event at Urban Winery in August are available. Contact the center directly at 852-2258. DVCC is still looking for restaurant partners to run a dine to donate in congruent with the event. People who are unable to attend but wish to contribute can mail contributions to DVCC P.O. Box 881, Minot, N.D. 58702.
