Chase Barnedt, Dickinson, killed in crash in McKenzie County

The Highway Patrol has released the name of a Dickinson man killed when his pickup truck side swiped a semi-truck and went off U.S. Highway 85 in McKenzie County on Monday morning.

Chase Barnedt, 25, Dickinson, was dead at the scene of the crash.

According to the Patrol, Barnedt was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck north on Highway 85 when he crossed the center line and struck the side of a southbound semi-truck with an oversize load driven by Rudolph Still, 48, of Westminster, S.C. After he struck the side of the semi, Barnedt’s vehicle spun out into the west ditch where it came to rest. Amanda Young, 40, of Watford City, was driving her 2015 Chevrolet Silverado behind Still and her vehicle was struck by flying debris. Neither Still nor Young were injured.

The accident occurred at 7:19 a.m. at mile marker 108.
