Wreaths Across America holding Christmas in July campaign

“Be their witness for everyone plays a part to be an American worth fighting for” is the theme of the Minot Civil Air Patrol Wreaths Across America Christmas in July campaign in the Grand Hotel lobby, Minot, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on July 15.

The event is to bring Minot and the surrounding area an opportunity to help the Minot Civil Air Patrol in promoting Wreaths Across America through giving the gift of remembrance of $15 to sponsor a veteran’s wreath, to ensure an American hero is honored, according to Richard Reuer, Wreaths Across American event coordinator.

There will be a booth in the lobby area for visitors to have the opportunity to participate, and for each person that stops by to sponsor a wreath for $15, they will have an opportunity to select one of the few centerpieces or an artificial wreaths on display. This will be the first time the Wreaths Across America Wall of Honor will be placed in front of Primo Restaurant and visitors who sponsor a wreath and have family members or friends who have served our great country and would like to add their names to the wall of honor in remembrance as well.

Last year Wreaths Across America in Minot brought in 1,353 wreaths. One thousand of the wreaths were used in the Minot area and over 300 wreaths went to Arlington National Cemetery to honor and remember over 1,600 veterans who are not buried in sections 12 & 16 where wreaths are laid each year.

This year’s Wreaths Across America event will take place at the Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot, on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m.
