Overflow causes brine & oil release at site near Alexander
ALEXANDER – An overflow on location at the User 1-28 saltwater disposal well, about seven miles northeast of Alexander, on Saturday resulted in the release of 10,500 gallons of brine and 126 gallons of oil.
Zavanna, LLC reported the incident to the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division on Monday. At the time of reporting 10,080 gallons of brine and 42 gallons of oil had been recovered. The product was contained on-site and cleanup is under way.
A state inspector has been to the location and will monitor additional cleanup.
