Kerry Quam, Minot, pleads guilty to terrorizing, misdemeanor domestic violence

Kerry Mendell Quam, 51, Minot, pleaded guilty in district court in Minot on Tuesday to assaulting a woman, a Class A misdemeanor, and to terrorizing her, a Class C felony.

Sentencing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 18 before North Central District Court Judge Doug Mattson.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Quam physically assaulted the woman and made threats to shoot her with a gun and hit her with a hammer on June 22. Quam also allegedly took all the keys to the family vehicles and hid them so she could not leave and stepped in front of her when she tried to leave the home to go to a friend’s house. He accused her of calling the police when she hid her phone from him. Eventually Quam fell asleep and the woman was able to leave the house and call police.
