Alberto Moreno sentenced to 10 days time served, two years probation for punching nurse in the face

Alberto Moreno, 36, Minot, was sentenced on Wednesday to two years in prison, all suspended but the 10 days he already served in the Ward County Jail, and two years of supervised probation for punching a nurse at Trinity Hospital in the face on Dec. 21, 2019.

Judge Richard Hagar also ordered Moreno to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation and to pay $525 in court costs for the Class C felony.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Moreno had been kicked out of the Sports on Tap earlier in the night and had refused to leave. An ambulance was called. Moreno was combative at the hospital. A nurse was talking on the phone with Moreno’s brother and, when she went to return the phone, Moreno sat up and punched her in the face. The woman had a red mark on the side of her face.
