Blaire Olafson, Glenburn, sentenced to four days in jail for driving drunk with a minor
Blaire Elwood Olafson, 62, Glenburn, was sentenced on June 22 to 30 days in jail, with a requirement that he serve four days, and 360 days unsupervised probation for driving drunk with a juvenile in the vehicle on May 28.
North Central District Court Judge Todd Cresap also ordered Olafson to obtain a chemical dependency evaluation, to attend a victim impact panel, and to $825 in court costs.
Olafson pleaded guilty to Class A misdemeanor DUI with a minor.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, someone called police and reported that a truck with a trailer had been swerving into oncoming traffic and then parked in the parking lot of Wilbur Ellis Offices in southeast Minot. The juvenile was a passenger in the vehicle. Police responded and made contact with Olafson, whose breath smelled strongly of alcohol. He failed to pass a field sobriety test. Olafson refused to take a chemical breath test.
