Minot police have identified the victim in a shooting in Minot on Wednesday night as Jordan Andrew Parisien, 21, of Minot, who usually went by his middle name Andrew.
Parisien was the stepbrother of Damion Michael Allen Colvin, 22, Minot, who has been charged with Class AA felony murder in the death, according to police. Parisien was not related by blood to Colvin, according to police.
According to police, Colvin and Parisien had argued on Wednesday night at a southwest Minot residence and the fight moved outside, where it turned physical. Colvin then went back into the residence, came back outside with a gun and shot his stepbrother multiple times in the chest. Parisien was taken to Trinity Hospital for treatment but died an hour later.
Colvin was taken into custody at the scene of the shooting and allegedly told police “I shot him.”
Colvin is being held on $1 million cash or corporate surety bond at the Ward County Jail.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for Feb. 23 in district court in Minot before Judge Gary Lee.
