Kim Fundingsland/MDN Municipal Court opened this week following a lengthy closure due to coronavirus. Among the changes made to comply with social distancing measures is a waiting area in an adjacent hallway at the Municipal Auditorium with chairs spaced at least six feet apart. Additional precautionary measures include wearing face masks, prohibiting entering the building until 15 minutes before court begins and separation on benches inside the courtroom. Plexiglass has been installed in front of the judge’s bench and in front of the city attorney’s desk. Cleaning of the podium, counter tops, writing instruments and benches is done following each individual appearance.
