Another person tests positive for coronavirus at Minot Police Department

One person has tested positive for the new coronavirus at the Minot Police Department, according to police.

Capt. John Klug said that a mass testing event was held Monday for front-line workers in Minot and the results were delivered Wednesday.

Klug said another 49 people at the police department tested negative for the virus. The person who tested positive will be in isolation at home until cleared by the First District Health Unit.

One other person had previously tested positive for the virus at the Minot Police Department.

Klug said the police department has a plan in place to ensure the delivery of emergency services in the community and to protect employees. He said the positive test result will not cause a change or disruption in police services to Minot.

The North Dakota Health Department reported 24 additional people have tested positive for the virus in Ward County, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 53. One person has died and 21 have recovered.
