PSC schedules hearing in Tioga for proposed pipeline

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a public hearing in Tioga on Tuesday, regarding a proposal for a residue gas pipeline in Mountrail and Williams Counties.

In keeping with recommendations of public health officials to minimize public gatherings during this COVID-19 event, members of the public are encouraged to provide their comments in writing and, if necessary, by telephone.

Written comments will be accepted into the official record up to five days after the hearing. They can be submitted by e-mail to ndpsc@nd.gov or mailed to 600 E. Boulevard Ave., Dept. 408, Bismarck, ND 58505. The public may also listen to the hearing by phone and comment during the public comment section. Additionally, a recording of this hearing will be available on the website the following day at psc.nd.gov by choosing the case under “hot topics.”

Liberty Midstream Solutions, LLC, is proposing to construct an approximately 4.7 mile-long residue gas pipeline in Mountrail and Williams Counties. The pipeline would be an 8-inch diameter pipeline with an estimated throughput of up to 80 million cubic feet per day. The estimated cost of the project is $4.6 million.

The pipeline would originate at the existing Liberty County Line Gas Plant near Tioga and end at an interconnection with the Alliance Pipeline’s Tioga Lateral pipeline.
