A firefighter is about to enter one of two mobile homes that were destroyed by fire Monday. The adjacent structures were located in the Jefferson Mobile Home Park in southeast Minot. A fire that began shortly after noon quickly engulfed the first structure with strong winds spreading heat and fire to the second mobile home. An unknown number of people were in the first home cooking lunch when the blaze began. All got out safely and no injuries were reported, including fire department personnel. The fire was contained in about 30 minutes with firefighters staying on scene to put out “hot spots.” The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Monday.
