Corey Payne sentenced for possession of stolen vehicle

Corey Edward Payne, 31, was sentenced on Friday to five years in prison, all suspended but the 62 days he has already served in jail, and three years of supervised probation, for Class B felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Court records show that North Central District Court Judge Richard Hagar also ordered Payne to pay $775 in court costs and reserved restitution for 90 days.

The sentence is concurrent with a sentence Payne is serving in another case.

The victim told police that the vehicle was stolen from a motel parking lot in June. Witnesses in Western Village told police that Payne had been in possession of the vehicle since last summer.
