Montana woman injured in accident near Williston

WILLISTON – A 24-year-old Culbertson, Mont., woman was seriously injured in a crash on Thursday morning seven miles west of Williston.

Hallie Finnicum was taken by ambulance to a Williston hospital and then airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot for treatment, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Charges are pending against the driver of the other vehicle, Aaron Tkachyk, 29, of Whitefish, Mont., who was not injured.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Tkachyk was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup west on Highway 2 and Finnicum was driving a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV east on Highway 2. Tkachyk lost control and the vehicle rotated counter-clockwise and entered the eastbound lane in front of Finnicum’s Hyundai. The Hyundai struck the Dodge on the passenger side.

Both Finnicum and Tkachyk were wearing their seat belts and air bags deployed in both vehicles.
