OBERON – A high speed chase at speeds approaching 110 mph took place near Oberon on Sunday afternoon, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The Patrol tried to stop the vehicle for speeding at 83 mph in a 65 mph zone and the vehicle fled the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. The Highway Patrol reports that the vehicle was eventually stopped when it ran off the road near Mile Marker 152 on U.S. Highway 281 north of Oberon. Neither the driver or passengers in the vehicle were injured. They were taken into custody, according to the Patrol. The case was turned over to the Bureau of Indian Affairs for further investigation.
