The snowmobile Youth Safety Course scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Minot’s MAYSA arena has been canceled. The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department was hosting the event for the purpose of certifying snowmobile riders 10 years of age or older who do not have a valid driver’s license.

In a statement Parks and Rec said, “Unfortunately, we are canceling the snowmobile safety class in Minot due to a lack of interest. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

A similar class scheduled in Jamestown this past Friday was also canceled due to a lack of participants. An online version of the course remains available on the Parks and Rec website.
