James Floyd charged with aggravated assault
James Edward Floyd, 34, is charged with Class C felony aggravated assault for beating up another inmate during a fight at the Ward County Jail on Monday.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Floyd got into a verbal argument with the other inmate. Floyd allegedly followed him into a storage room, kneed him in the stomach while he was standing, then knocked the other man to the ground, got on top of him and punched him repeatedly in the face with a closed fist. The alleged victim was taken to the Trinity Hospital emergency room for treatment. Floyd continued to punch the other man in the face until correctional officers dragged him away.
