Armstrong comments on sending articles of impeachment to Senate

Congressman Kelly Armstrong released the following statement on the House’s vote on Wednesday to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate following a 28-day delay:

“The Democrats rushed to impeach President Trump in the fastest process in modern history. They repeatedly failed to wait for facts, trampled minority rights, and ignored historical precedent. Most importantly, they failed to prove the charges in the articles of impeachment. The political games played by Speaker Pelosi and Senator Schumer have not changed that fact.”

The House passed the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Dec. 18, 2019, with all Republicans and two Democrats voting against the first article and all Republicans and three Democrats voting against the second article.

Armstrong is serving his first term representing the state of North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives. He sits on the House Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight and Reform Committee, and the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.
