Regency @ First & First Event Center, located at the corner of First Avenue and First Street Southeast, on the second floor of the former YMCA building in downtown Minot, will have its official grand opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The space has been remodeled into an event center that will host weddings and events up to 325 people.

The Windsor, the event center’s premier space, has a 20-foot industrial-style ceiling, six dragonfly chandeliers and nine floor-to-ceiling inlaid stone columns, according to the company.

The company stated the building’s floor plan was reconfigured for optimal event flow. Using the adjoining Parlor room for social hour allows for the Windsor’s quick transition from ceremony to reception layout. Featuring a portable bar and lounge, the Parlor stands alone as an intimate gathering space for smaller events Sunday through Thursday.

“We’re thrilled to bring something new to Minot,” said Regency’s event manager, Adrianna Wixon, in a news release. “Until now, if couples wanted a modern/upscale wedding venue it required travelling out of town. Minot locals have a deep sense of family and community, which is why in the past, most brides have had to sacrifice their dream of a beautiful venue so all their loved ones could be there for their big day. Now, finally, Regency Event Center has brought the sophistication and glamour of a big city venue to our hometown.”
