‘Power of Pink’ generates funds for cancer exercise

Submitted Photo Officials from Minot’s Marketplace Foods stores presented an impressive $14,910 to Trinity Health Foundation on Tuesday – the proceeds from the retailer’s Power of Pink Cake Auction held Oct. 9 at the North Hill store. Forty-eight businesses and other groups pitched in to decorate and purchase the cakes. The community coming together made it a success and a special thanks goes to the Sundsbak family for all of their hard work. The funds will go a long way to support patients enrolled in Trinity Health’s Cancer Exercise Rehab program, which offers clinical exercise and conditioning for cancer patients and survivors. South Broadway store manager Craig Heupel credited the event’s success to the tremendous effort on the part of MarketPlace Foods staff. “It’s so great to see patients participate and return the next year as survivors,” he said. “It’s working; people are beating cancer.”
