Police raise funds for cancer

Submitted Photo Members of the Minot Police Department presented $2,300 to Trinity Health Foundation, the result of a two-month drive that began with October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and extended through to No-Shave November. Captain Justin Sundheim says individuals throughout the department kicked in $35 per month or $60 for the two months to raise awareness and get a break from guidelines that limit facial hair to a half-inch mustache. “It’s a reflection of our community ties,” Sundheim said in a press release. “It shows that we share the same struggles as others in the community.” The funds will provide direct financial assistance to patients at the Trinity CancerCare Center.
