A 49-year-old Minot man was injured in a snowmobile crash near Minot on Sunday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Karry Greene was operating a Yamaha SRX 700 snowmobile about seven miles north of Minot and a mile east of U.S. Highway 83. Greene was traveling south across a farm field at a reported speed of about 80 mph. As the snowmobile approached 86th Avenue NE, it continued up the slope of the ditch at a high rate of speed. Greene jumped off the snowmobile before it became airborne. He was found unconscious in the ditch by members of the riding party. He was wearing a helmet, according to the Highway Patrol.

Greene was taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot. The crash is under investigation.
