Larry Jones, Detroit, Mich., charged with intent to deliver fentanyl

Larry Devon Jones, 26, Detroit, Mich., is charged in district court in Minot with intent to deliver fentanyl.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force had Jones under surveillance on Thursday. Jones was spotted getting into a silver 2016 Subaru Impreza registered and driven by Zachary Jonathan Fredericksen, 26, of Minot.

Fredericksen’s parole officer gave the officers permission to search the vehicle. The search turned up a black digital scale on the center console, an orange straw with suspected drug residue, another orange straw with drug residue and two pieces of foil containing powder on the driver’s seat.

Jones was searched and the search turned up 50 grams of fentanyl wrapped in a plastic sandwich bag in one of his pockets.

The arrests took place at 1140 12th Street SE, according to a citation filed with the court.

Jones is charged with B felony possession of felony with intent to deliver, possession of the scale, a C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an A misdemeanor. Fredericksen is charged with C felony possession of the digital scale and C felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
