One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash at State Avenue and Diamond Drive in Dickinson. The accident happened about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Pronounced dead at the scene was Shawn Flaherty, 64, New England. He was the driver of a 2001 Ford Escape. Sergio Ruiz Ledezma, 58, Dickinson was taken by Dickinson Ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck where he was being treated for injuries sustained in the crash. Ledezma was operating a 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup.

The third vehicle involved was a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup driven by Matthew Biel, 46, Dickinson. Biel was not injured.

According the the Highway Patrol, all of the drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The report stated that Ledezma’s vehicle crossed a center line and struck Biel’s vehicle on the driver’s side before colliding head-on with the vehicle driver by Flaherty.
