Dawn Duchaine, Minot, charged with intent to deliver heroin

Dawn Lynn Duchaine, 38, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony intent to deliver heroin, Class C felony possession of methamphetamine, and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Duchaine was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on Monday morning. The car, driven by Anthony Ronald Scrivner, 29, did not have a valid temporary registration tag taped onto the rear windshield, according to the affidavit.

Scrivner gave permission to search his vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia, according to the affidavit, and a search of Duchaine’s pocket turned up a large amount of heroin packaged in a way that suggested Duchaine intended to deal the drug. A loaded syringe filled with liquid methamphetamine was found in her purse.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 9.
