William Garrad, Minot, charged with burglary, breaking into motor vehicle

William Thomas Garrad, 27, Minot, is accused of burglarizing a southwest Minot residence early Thursday morning and stealing a purse containing credit cards, money, and jewelry and of breaking into a pickup across the street from the burglarized residence and stealing another credit card. Garrad also reportedly attempted to use one of the stolen credit cards.

Garrad is charged in district court in Minot with Class B felony burglary committed at night, two counts of Class C felony theft of a credit card, one Class C felony count of attempted unauthorized use of a credit card, and one Class C felony count of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Garrad made an initial appearance on Thursday before Judge Todd Cresap. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 20.
