Whitney Candice Belgarde, 31, Minot, is accused of stabbing a 37-year-old man in the stomach with a folding knife at a southwest Minot address on Saturday.

She is charged in district court in Minot with Class C felony aggravated assault committed with a dangerous weapon.

She was scheduled to make an initial appearance on Tuesday before Judge Todd Cresap.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the man was taken to Trinity Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The man told police that he had been visiting friends at a southwest Minot apartment. Belgarde apparently became angry and demanded that the man leave the apartment and stabbed him with the 3- to 4-inch blade.
