Darrow Parizek, Minot, charged with two incidents of felony domestic violence

Darrow John Parizek, 55, Minot, is charged with Class C felony domestic violence causing serious bodily injury on Oct. 1 and, in another case, Class C felony domestic violence causing serious bodily injury and Class C felony interference with a telephone during an emergency call on Nov. 2. He is also charged with Class B misdemeanor driving with a suspended license.

In the Oct. 1 case, Parizek allegedly strangled his former girlfriend with both hands during an argument, according to a police affidavit. According to an affidavit filed with the court in the Nov. 2 case, Parizek hit the woman in the face with a frying pan while she was trying to call 911, knocked her to the floor and sat on her chest while he strangled her with both hands. The incident happened at an address in Ward County. The woman had multiple injuries, including bruising on her face and scratches on her neck. Her hair had also been pulled out.

Preliminary hearings on all the charges are scheduled for Dec. 12 in district court in Minot before Judge Doug Mattson.
