Domestic Violence Crisis Center will present Take Time to Care at the Sleep Inn October 18.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; live auction will begin at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $10 and include chocolate-themed appetizers and a cash bar throughout the evening.

To purchase tickets, contact the DVCC office at 852-2258. This event will feature hand-crafted quilts, fiber art, glass, metal pieces and table runners that will be available in either live or silent auction.

Another feature of the event involves local artists who designed original, one-of-a-kind clocks for this event. The clocks serve as a reminder to take a moment to acknowledge the impact of domestic and sexual violence in our community.

In 2018, DVCC was able to provide over 3,840 safe nights of shelter to survivors and their children, assist with 85 protection orders, and provided numerous opportunities for ongoing peer support. In 2019, they added therapeutic services to assist survivors in moving forward beyond the trauma they experience. Events such as Take Time to Care allow DVCC to continue to provide a refuge and resources to begin a life free of violence to those escaping abuse.
