Jermeka Rogers, Minot, charged with possession of stolen car

Jermeka Cassandra Rogers, 26, Minot, is accused of possession of a stolen vehicle in Minot on Wednesday.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the vehicle had been reported stolen on Tuesday. When police stopped the vehicle, they found the registration card belonging to the owner on the passenger side front seat.

Rogers told police she had purchased the vehicle for $300 from someone and did not know it was stolen. The man who sold her the vehicle did not immediately provide her with a vehicle title and bill of sale.

Rogers was also found to be in possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

Rogers is charged in district court in Minot with possession of heroin in a jail, a Class C felony; possession of methamphetamine, a second offense, a Class C felony; theft of property, a Class A misdemeanor; and driving with a suspended driver’s license, a Class A misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 17.
