Hayden Erickson, Plaza, charged with possession of stolen truck

Hayden Cole Erickson, 21, Plaza, is accused of being in possession of a stolen white Ford F550 flat bed truck with a fuel tank in the back on Tuesday.

Erickson is charged in district court in Minot with Class A felony possession of stolen property valued at more than $50,000.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the stolen truck was located in the Jefferson Trailer Court in Minot on Tuesday. Erickson was asleep behind the wheel of the wheel and appeared to be sluggish. The officer drew his weapon, pointed his firearm at Erickson and pounded on the window. Erickson was slow to respond, moved slowly, and did not obey the commands to open the door or put his hands up. The officer opened the vehicle door and ordered Erickson to get out. Erickson raised his hands to shoulder height in front of him and obeyed the officer’s order to turn around. Erickson was handcuffed and placed under arrest. Erickson declined to speak with officers at the jail. The truck was stolen from Ward County and was turned over to its owner.

A preliminary hearing for Erickson is scheduled for Oct. 24 before Judge Richard Hagar.
