Grenora School bus accident results in minor injuries

Minor injuries resulted Saturday morning when a Grenora School bus overturned in Williams County.

According to a Highway Patrol report, a Grenora School bus carrying 23 people including the driver was traveling south on Williams County #5 from Grenora, ND to Lamert, Mont., around 9 a.m. when the accident happened.

The bus was traveling between 40-45 mph on a wet roadway. The vehicle drifted onto the righthand road edge and the driver steered to the left. The bus then entered the left ditch and the driver, Amanda Myers, 53, of Grenora, steered to the right.

The bus overturned on the roadway coming to rest on its driver’s side. The driver and one other passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
