Eli Dragswolf, New Town, charged with breaking into motor vehicle

Eli Stonewall Dragswolf, 29, New Town, is accused of attempting to steal items out of a vehicle that did not belong to him in Minot on Sunday, Sept. 8.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the reporting party said he had seen Dragswolf take items out of his stepfather’s truck and digging around in other areas on the property.

When the officer arrived, he saw Dragswolf rummaging through an older white pickup truck in the 500 block of 3rd Street NE and take an item out of the bed of the pickup truck and put it in his pocket. Dragswolf allegedly grabbed a fire extinguisher, which the officer was afraid could be used as a weapon. The officer ordered him to put his hands behind his back and Dragswolf resisted.

Dragswolf made an initial appearance in district court in Minot on Monday. He is charged with Class C felony unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and Class A misdemeanor resisting arrest. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Oct. 17 before Judge Gary Lee.
