Resolution honors Battle of the Bulge 75th anniversary

Senators Kevin Cramer, R-ND, and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va, introduced a resolution to honor the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, according to a news release.

“Now therefore be it resolved,” the resolution states, “that the Senate commemorates, on December 16, 2019, the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II; recognizes the valiant efforts of the various Allied Forces; and remembers the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice, which contributed to the Allied victory in the European Theater.”

“This resolution is an opportunity to remember the heroism of the soldiers who led us to victory, including the thousands of U.S. troops who made the ultimate sacrifice during this battle,” said Cramer. “The Allies winning here made the final surrender of Nazi Germany possible.”

Sen. John Hoeven and a number of other senators joined in introducing the resolution.
