Travis Nabozny, Minot, charged with criminal trespass

Travis Lyle Nabozny, 38, Minot, is accused of trespassing at a southeast Minot apartment on Monday and of yelling and cursing at a woman and spitting in her face when she called for help.

Nabozny is charged with Class A misdemeanor criminal trespass in district court in Minot and Class B misdemeanor disorderly conduct in Minot Municipal Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the apartment manager called police late on Monday morning and reported Nabozny had been disorderly. Nabozny had worked for a former tenant at one of the apartments in exchange for a place to stay. He claimed he had lived in one of the apartments for the past eight or nine days and the manager showed up and started recording him on her phone for no reason. The apartment manager said Nabozny had no right to be living in that apartment. She had asked him to help her change the locks on several of the apartments. The last time she saw the apartment in question was Saturday and it was locked and secured. The apartment manager believes that Nabozny took an extra key while he was helping to change the locks. She found him in the apartment with a dog on Monday, along with a woman who was making a sign for fair parking. She told police that Nabozny yelled at her, called her names, and spit in her face when she confronted him. She then called the police. The woman placed Nabozny under citizen’s arrest for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct and police took him to jail.
