Special dinner to be held for Minot Elks Lodge
The Minot Elks Lodge #1089 currently has around 134 members. Now the Elk International Chapter, the Military Veterans Chapter and the Fulltimers Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association will be holding a dinner on Aug. 11 at the Grand Hotel to encourage people to become new members.
The groups are offering to pay for dinner for 15 to 20 couples who are interested in learning more about the Elks and in applying for membership.
The Elks Lodge are a fraternal, charitable organization that is a part of the National Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. They donate to many organizations, including Second Story, Men’s Winter Refuge, Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Mouse River Players Children’s Theatre, Garrison ND Firefighters Museum Education Programs and several after-prom parties, as well as help children and families with medical and travel expenses in the Minot area.
This year the group is also working with the Backpack Buddies program and the Family Readiness program at the Minot Air Force Base.
