Fire causes brine, oil spill at site near Alexander

ALEXANDER – Dakota Fluid Solutions, Inc. reported that a fire occurred on Monday at a saltwater disposal site near Alexander causing 185,808 gallons of brine and 5,796 gallons of oil to be released.

The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified on Tuesday of the release at the Carl Spackler SWD 1 saltwater disposal, about 10 miles south of Alexander.

N.D. Oil and Gas inspectors have been to both locations and will monitor cleanup progress.
