Air National Guard to feature obstacle course at State Fair

The Air National Guard (ANG) nationwide Recruitment and Retention Tour is touching down at the North Dakota State Fair, July 19-27, with their robust physical fitness challenge ‘The Beast,” according to a news release.

Located by Stage 5, the obstacle course was designed to identify the toughest recruits in the nation and to help fill over 220 positions in the 119th Wing, with headquarters in Fargo, in fields such as geospatial intelligence, intel operations and piloting.

“The Beast” challenges athletes at all fitness levels through a timed physical fitness series containing monkey bars, cargo nets, horizontal peg boards, box jumps and pull-up bars. The obstacle course gives recruits a first-hand glance at the basic military training test and allows recruiters to engage with the toughest challengers at events across the nation.

Local recruiters will be on site to give tours and talk about all the benefits the ANG offers including sign on bonuses, tuition assistance and full-time military benefits for part-time service.
