Minuteman missile sites film screening planned

BISMARCK – “Beneath the Plains: The Minuteman Missile on Alert” will be screened at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum, Bismarck. The film screening is free and open to the public.

Recently produced for the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site in Philip, S.D., the 30-minute film will be introduced by Eric Leonard, superintendent at the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site, and Robert Branting, site supervisor of the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site near Cooperstown. There will be an opportunity for audience questions following the film. Branting will also discuss upcoming celebratory plans for a 10th anniversary commemoration of the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site opening to the public.

The screening is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota’s Sensational Sundays series. Sensational Sundays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours.
