Sherry Wicker, Minot, charged with conspiracy to commit theft of property

Sherry Lynne Wicker, 58, Minot, is accused of conspiring to burglarize a storage unit on Feb. 3, 2018.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the total value of the property taken was more than $10,000.

The renter of the storage unit had found the lock on the unit broken and removed and provided police with a list of property missing. An officer spoke with Wicker, who said she had provided a U-Haul truck and helped a “friend” remove property from the unit. Wicker texted the owner of the stolen property and offered to sell him various items, all matching the items that had been stolen from the storage unit. Wicker would not tell police which “friend” she had been helping.

The Class B felony theft of property charge was not filed until April 19 of this year, more than 14 months after the theft was reported.

Wicker was scheduled to make an initial appearance in district court in Minot on Tuesday before Judge Todd Cresap.
